Treatment Length
Research indicates that gut-directed hypnotherapy is usually delivered over a minimum of six sessions to support meaningful symptom improvement. Vanessa will discuss suitability, session structure, and expectations directly with each patient.
Vanessa is part of a small group of Australian hypnotherapists with a dedicated focus on gut-directed hypnotherapy. Her work centres on the gut–brain connection and the role that stress, anxiety, fear, urgency, bloating, pain, avoidance, and nervous system activation can play in digestive symptom patterns.
She works with clients experiencing IBS and gut–brain interaction symptoms where the body may have become caught in patterns of alarm, anticipation, avoidance, and hypervigilance. Her approach recognises that symptoms are real, while also addressing the way the brain, gut, and nervous system can influence symptom sensitivity, symptom fear, and trust in the body.
Vanessa uses structured, evidence-informed gut-directed hypnotherapy to support regulation of the brain–gut connection. Her broader training in clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, Emotional Freedom Technique, and rapid anxiety reduction allows her to work with both the digestive symptom cycle and the emotional patterns that may sit around it.
Vanessa offers consultations via telehealth, allowing clients to access gut-directed hypnotherapy from the comfort of their own home.
She provides an initial 15-minute telehealth consultation, followed by 60-minute gut-directed hypnotherapy consultations where appropriate. Sessions are patient-centred, structured, and designed to support nervous system regulation, gut–brain communication, and greater confidence in the body.
Vanessa is an Accredited Hypnotherapist with the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia and the International Alliance of Professional Complementary Practitioners, and is also a member of the Guild of Australian Hypnotherapists.

You will have an initial consultation with a gastroenterologist who can direct further involvement with the rest of the team as needed.
