About

Dr. Brandon Baraty completed his medical degree with honours at the University of Sydney in 2009 and went on to specialise in gastroenterology, hepatology, and inflammatory bowel disease.

In 2017, Dr. Baraty was awarded his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP), solidifying his dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

He is the Head of Department of Gastroenterology at Macquarie University Hospital, Director of Endoscopy at Ryde Hospital, has been working at Sydney Gastrointestinal Specialists since 2018, and works at St. Vincent's Hospital where he contributes to IBD clinics and performs transabdominal ultrasounds. He performs advanced gastroscopies and colonoscopies at Macquarie University Hospital, Ryde Hospital and Pennant Hills Day Surgery

Dr. Baraty is one of only a handful of gastroenterologists in NSW accredited by the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) and the Gastroenterology Network of Intestinal Ultrasound (GENIUS)to perform, teach and perform research with advanced trans-abdominal ultrasound assessments of the gastrointestinal tract.

With a wealth of expertise, particularly in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), he completed a 12-month advanced fellowship in IBD imaging in Canada, where he mastered this specialised skill. He is also pursuing a PhD in this field, further enhancing his understanding of the gut and its vital role in overall health. Combining his profound knowledge of the microbiome with evidence-based medicine and advanced endoscopic techniques, he provides comprehensive, compassionate care. His empathetic and respectful approach ensures that every patient feels heard, supported, and cared for at the highest level.
